This is the business site for 2 technology geeks that have moved to Vieques, Puerto Rico.
Creating content for our new company site has proven challenging thus far. We’ve spent a couple years cyber stalking the island and one month living here. Our first draft of our site included references to smb, value add and other gimmicky business verbiage (aka crap.)
Ultimately we are in our market evaluation phase; trying to understand what technology needs and opportunities exist here. For the first time we don’t know our client base. nor the first projects to tackle. What we do know is that we are honest, straightforward, and have can do attitude, in fact, a burning desire to provide our clients with functional and quality technology solutions.
We strongly believe in utilizing open source solutions versus high cost proprietary offerings. We will invest our time in evaluating open source solutions as we thoroughly enjoy this work. Bulky, high cost, and awkward to maintain technology have no place here or in fact, anywhere. We believe solutions should be simple, reusable, and tap into the innovative web 2.0 technologies that exist. In essence, use the already existing frameworks of open source technologies to increase web visibility and traffic of existing entities on the island.
Our first project, Vieques Portal, is our proof of concept to demonstrate the value that structured content, geolocation, and social feeds / networking can provide to locals, visitors, and potential visitors.
